GUY CARLETON WIGGINS(American 1883-1962) “THE NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE”. Outstanding large oil on canvas New York City scene shows the corner of Broad Street and Wall Street. Four American flags fly off buildings. A snowstorm scene with vehicles and pedestrians braced against the snow. The viewer looks down the street at Trinity Church in the distance. Signed lower left “Guy Wiggins N.A.”. Housed in a fine fancy gesso decorated gilt frame with a back label “Heydenryk NYC”. Back of canvas having title and signed by artist. A note attached to back of frame indicates “Purchased through the Grand Central Gallery NYC”. IMPORTANT NOTE: A letter dated July 18th, 2012 from Guy A. Wiggins authenticating this work accompanies the painting and indicating “The painting is a good example of the city snow scenes for which my father is famous”. SIZE: 25″ x 30″.
