Scene shows a whaling boat cut in half by a sperm whale with other boats in the whaling process. A large whaling ship is behind. Wide legend indicating that title and descriptive caption. Published London, January 1, 1825 by W. J. Higgins. Housed in a silver gilt molded wood frame. Appears to be a later reprint. SIZE: Image: 13-3/4” x 19-1/2”. Sight: 16-1/4” x 22-1/4”. PROVENANCE: Rankin Estate, Annapolis, Maryland. CONDITION: All over foxing, no tears or rips, a few minor scratches. Otherwise good. 9-29698 (200-300)
