LIFT TOP BLANKET CHEST WITH PAINT DECORATION. Front panel has serpentine line with center half moon with “1720”. Below lock, initial “A.S.”. Tulip decoration, all in colors of red, white and black. This decoration is similar to decorations seen on early Connecticut chests. Boot jack ends, pine construction. SIZE: 22-3/4” h; case size 43-3/4” x 14-1/4” d. CONDITION: Period chest, decoration may be of later date. It is difficult to determine the paint history. 9-93840 (4,000-6,000)
