GEORGE HERBERT MCCORD (American, 1848-1909) ADIRONDACK MORNING. Large oil on canvas scene shows a lake with mountain backdrop with mist rising above the distant shore and the foreground having three deer amongst lily pads at shoreline edge and five flying ducks with reflections in the water. Signed lower right “G.H. McCord 1879”. Housed in a fine carved and gilt replacement frame. Frame stamped “N.M. Co.”. SIZE: 26-1/2″ x 42-1/2″. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Canvas patch to reverse with corresponding inpainting. Very good. 9-20544 (2,000-4,000)
