GEORGE HERBERT MCCORD (American, 1848 – 1909) SHIPPING ON THE HUDSON AT WEST POINT. Oil on canvas scene portrays four sailboats with sails up, one traveling alongside a steamship flying blue flag. Choppy green water with white caps and a background of the mountainous edge along the river. A bright mid-day sky with sunlit clouds of yellow & grayish tints with openings to blue. Signed bottom right “G H McCord A.N.A.”. Housed in an antique gilt carved frame having a “D.B. Butler & Co.” label. SIZE: 20″ x 26″. CONDITION: Relined, professionally restored with in painting.
