GEORGE ARTHUR HAYS (American, 1854-1945) “MOONLIGHT ON THE FARM”. Outstanding large oil on canvas moonlit scene shows a connected farmhouse with barns and gated rock wall. Two lights shine through windows with large trees flanking the scene. Thirteen cows are seen in the foreground in pasture, all under a medium blue sky lit by an unseen full moon. Signed lower left. Housed in a gilt carved wood frame. The back of the canvas having an artist signed title and dated “1925”. Also, “Retouched, 1938 by G.A. Hays”. SIZE: 39-1/2″ x 63-1/2″.
