FRANTS ROUBAUD (Russian, 1856-1928) THE FLAG RUNNER. Outstanding oil on canvas Arab scene shows an Arab man in blue coat carrying a large red flag while atop a galloping brown horse. The sun shines from the left casting their shadow onto the rock, sand & grass ground. A town is seen next to a river below a grass covered hill. Signed lower left “F. Roubaud”. Housed in a period gilt fancy frame. Stretcher marked with a stamp label of Hans Kellner. SIZE: 25″ x 15-1/2″. PROVENANCE: From a Juniper Island, FL Estate. CONDITION: Very good with some inpainting above the flag. 9-20795 (25,000-40,000)
