PAINTED LEATHER A-2 FLYING JACKET WITH REPRODUCED PHOTO OF THE PILOT. One the reverse of this jacket is painted a P-47 of the 509th Fighter Squadron diving across a 9th Air Force insignia. On the left front is a sewn the patch of the 509th Fighter Squadron which shows a black and white skeleton firing a machine gun superimposed over a green bomb. Above this patch is the leather name tag of the pilot W.E. Crumley. Manufactured by Perry Sports Wear Inc. Newburgh, N.Y. This jacket appears on page 69 of the book, “The Art of the Flight Jacket”. There are two copies of a photo of the pilot. SIZE: 40. CONDITION: The leather is in generally good condition with one minor blemish on the rear of the back. The cuffs and waistband are original to the jacket but well worn. 4-50163 (6,000-7,000)
