WWII U.S. 4-POCKET TUNIC, A-2 LEATHER FLIGHT JACKET, MISC. INSIGNIA, SERVICE RECORDS & TRAINING YEARBOOK OF 1ST LT. PAUL W. SWIFT. 1) The 4-pocket “Chocolate” tunic manufactured by Schwartz, Cincinnati and bearing the owners initials “P.W.S.” below the inside pocket. All appropriate insignia is present including service ribbons and the Air Medal. CONDITION: Excellent original with no moth damage but is lacking one of its large closure buttons. 2) On the left breast of the A-2 Flight jacket bears a leather tag with Swift’s name below which is the squadron patch for 443rd Bombardment Squadron, 320th Bombardment Group. CONDITION: Jacket shows heavy wear and scuffing to the leather and a seam slit to the right shoulder. The knitted cuffs and waistband appear to be original to the jacket and show more wear evidence to the cuffs. 3) Miscellaneous insignia consists of Squadron patches, zippo lighter, dog tags, rank insignia and ribbon bar. CONDITION: All good to fine. 4) There are photocopies of award documents, enlistment forms, copies of photos of Swift’s B-26 “Termite” in which he flew 67 missions. Original copies of Swift’s orders are also included. 5) An edition of the training squadron’s yearbook from Barksdale Field, Sherveport, L.A. CONDITION: Good. 8-87189 (3,000-4,500)
