*CUSTOM ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 42 PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. Fine little pump gun with 28” solid rib modified bbl, custom engraved with a modified no. 5 Winchester pattern. The left side receiver has two pointers and two flying partridge in a woodland scene surrounded by foliate arabesque patterns with fine stippled background. The right side vignette has a setter with two flying partridge in a woodland scene surrounded by matching patterns. The sides of bbl and takedown ring have light arabesque patterns as does the top step of the receiver and rear edge of the sides. Wood is exhibition grade shell grain walnut carved in Winchester “B” pattern with a Winchester logo black hard rubber buttplate. The bottom of the magazine tube has a Winchester style pigeon engraved. Accompanied by a rare tan leather Winchester marked take down case. Case is marked on one end with the Winchester trademark and 1907 pat. date. It is complete with locking buckles, shoulder strap and carrying handle and is purple velvet lined. One of the billets on the end cap is marked “G3037A-32”. SN 82366. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, retains virtually all its custom finish to both metal and wood with only very minor handling and storage marks. Bright shiny bore. The case is very fine with some loose stitching on one end cap, the billets are dry in need of treatment. 4-49439 (2,500-3,500)
