FINE BOSTON BIRD CAGE WINDSOR ARM CHAIR WITH LABEL OF SAMUEL H. HORTON. First half 19th Century. The flared rectangular back with bird cage cresting and simulated bamboo spindles joined to shaped arms with down-turned grips centering a nicely formed saddle seat, raised on splayed legs with simulated bamboo turning joined by a box-stretcher. SIZE: eight of back 34”, Height of seat 17”. CONDITION: Repairs to arms at stiles professionally done with a dark-brown old re-polished finish. The underside of seat retains original label in good condition. No repairs to legs or stretchers. 9-91883 (300-500)
