AMERICAN FAN-BACK WINDSOR ARMCHAIR. Late 18th Century. Probably Philadelphia. Serpentine crest with volute-carved ears above eight curved spindles, joined to arms with knuckled grips above the shaped saddle seat raised on baluster and ring turned splayed legs joined by a swelled H-stretcher. SIZE: 38″ h to back. CONDITION: Stripped and refinished at some period in time. Left proper arm with spliced repair at stile. Otherwise very good restored condition. 9-91366 (400-600)
