VINCENT D’ESPOSITO (Italian, Early 20th Century) A BREAK IN THE WEATHER. Fine gouache seascape with white yacht plying through stormy seas. Ship has three masts with no sails up and single smoke stack. It rides through rough waves with back half obscured by cresting wave. Bow is under blue patch of sky but rain clouds are seen over mid-ship and stern. Signed lower left “V. D’Esposito”. Housed in a replacement gilt wood frame. PROVENANCE: A CT estate. SIGHT SIZE: 14-1/2” x 19-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94616 (1,000-1,500)
