AMERICAN FEDERAL CARVED GILT WOOD OVER-MANTLE MIRROR. Circa 1830. Stepped cornice above the rectangular frame, frieze with carved draperies flanked by fluted columns with anthemion leaves and oval reeded patera centering three rectangular mirror plates. Surrounds with attached floral garlands. Lower molded apron with acorn leaf carvings. SIZE: 27″ h x 60″ l. CONDITION: Retains original glasses and backboards. Original surfaces are somewhat chipped with looses to gesso and some of the gilt work throughout the entire mirror frame. Overall probably a 3-4% loss. 9-91512 (400-600)
