LILLA CABOT PERRY (American, 1848-1933) PORTRAIT OF A GIRL IN A RED BONNET. Unsigned. Outstanding oil on canvas portrait of a young girl wearing a green coat with lace bow at neck and lace lined red bonnet. She sits upright in a chair. Wonderful facial expression having blue eyes, blonde hair and red lips. She holds a yellow string at her lap. Dark mottled brown background. Housed in a replacement fancy gesso decorated pierced gilt frame. Inventory tags “APG 676 D”. SIZE: 27” x 21”. CONDITION: Canvas has been cut and restretched with one original side showing. On the right hand quarter quadrant margin it appears there has been an overpainted area, possibly done by the artist in its resizing. Very good condition. 12-353 (0-0)
