*EARLY COMMERCIAL GOVERNMENT MODEL SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. CAL. 45 ACP. 1914 production with 1911 the last patent date with standard Commercial Gov’t Model markings, thin front sight and round top rear sight. Orig. long trigger, short hammer spur and short safety with flat main spring housing and diamond checkered walnut grips with a 2-tone lanyard loop magazine. Accompanied by a Colt Factory letter identifying this pistol as being shipped to Abercrombie & Fitch on May 2, 1914 in a shipment of six similar pistols. SN C6441 CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Retains 93-95% strong bright orig. blue with most of wear on front strap, which is mostly a brown patina. Balance of pistol has only light muzzle and sharp edge wear with some small scratches and spotting on frame. Grips are near excellent with some minor chipped diamonds and light diamond point wear. Bore is strong and bright with scattered dark spots. Magazine retains most of its orig. dulled finish. 4-45379 JL138 (1,750-2,500)
