JAPANESE SHORT LANCE. Unusual small lance with triangle shaped 8″ steel blade mounted on a 52″ haft with brass ferrule at the top and an iron collar with pierced heart decorations and decorative skirt with two other iron bands. The top 16″ of the haft is string wrapped with black jappanned paint and the balance of the butt is unpainted wood with a dark patina. It is accompanied by its orig. wood black painted cover. CONDITION: The blade is fine having been cleaned with light scattered surface pitting. The iron bands have a dark patina with the jappanned area chipped and dinged.
