*PARKER CHE GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN, 2-BARREL SET. CAL: 12ga. Built on a 1/2 frame with both barrels being 28-1/8”, having tapered, matted ribs with a single silver bead and dolls head. Both barrels are fitted with beavertail, nicely checkered forearms (possibly replacements), the stock is nicely figured American walnut with scalloped, checkered straight wrist and teardrop side panels, 14-1/4” over a checkered butt having heel and toe plates. It also has a silver initial plate engraved “C.R.G. / Jan 18 / 1940”. The receiver is beautifully engraved with about 80% coverage, fine arabesque patterns with a setter on the left side, a pointer on the right side and flying pheasant on the floorplate. It is fitted with Parker single trigger and ejectors. It is accompanied by a period, square take-down case and chamois sleeves. Barrels #1 are marked on the water table “Max. 40 Yds.” on the left side and “Max. 30 Yds.” on the right side. Barrels #2 are marked on the water table “Max. 25 Yds.” on the left side and “Max. 20 Yds.” on the right side. #1 is choked IMP-MOD/MOD and #2 is choked IMP-CYL/CYL. WEIGHT 7.0lbs. Barrels #1 left bbl. wall thickness is .035, .010 choke, right bbl .032 wall thickness and .011 choke. Barrels #2 left bbl .wall thickness 030, .002 choke. Right bbl .030 wall thickness and .005 choke. SN 241942. CONDITION: Very good plus, the barrels retain most of an excellent professionally restored finish with some light wear under the forearm tips. The receiver retains 10-20% case colors, bright on the top and bottom tangs, silvered elsewhere. The wood, with light handling and use nicks and scratches, retains most of a fine old refinish with a hairline on the left side panel and a crack at the barrel channel on the right side of forearm #1. The buttstock checkering could stand freshening. Brilliant shiny bores. The case is sound, showing use and handling. 4-45172 JL120 (7,500-10,000)
