*FRANCOTTE MODEL 45 EAGLE GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. CAL. 12ga. Post-war manufacture with 30″ bbls, choked FULL/FULL, raised matted rib with rib extension and Greener cross bolt. The bbls are marked “Von Lengerke & Detmold US Agents, New York”. Receiver and sideplate are case colored and game scene engraved with pheasants and partridge on the left side, wood cock and ducks on the right side. The bottom of the receiver has a gold spread-winged American eagle inlay and there is a heron engraved on the trigger bow. The areas surrounding the game scenes on the sideplates and receiver, are completely covered with very fine arabesque pattern engraving. The fences are deep relief engraved in leaf patterns. The foreend iron is engraved in matching arabesque patterns. The wood is moderately figured European walnut with splinter forearm and semi-pistol grip stock, 15″ over a Pachmayr Old English pad. This fine shotgun is also fitted with ejectors and dbl. triggers. SN 84277. CONDITION: About excellent. Retains most of a fine professional restored finish with a chip missing from the forearm tip and two or three small chips missing from the grip edge with an oil stain on the toe. Small dent and light scrape on the left bbl. Brilliant shiny bores. 4-43347 Z503 (3,500-7,000)
