WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 SPECIAL ORDER RIFLE. CAL. 44 WCF. Standard grade rifle with 24″ oct. bbl, half-nickel front sight, slot blank in the rear dovetail with an early Lyman tang sight. It has button magazine with uncheckered wood, straight stock and crescent steel buttplate with trap. SN 168679. CONDITION: Good to very good. The bbl retains about 50% thinning orig. blue with sharp clean edges. The receiver retains 15-20% orig. blue with the sides having been wiped with cold blue, slightly battered screws. The wood is sound and retains most of a recent refinish. Bright shiny bore. 4-44652 JL58 (700-1,200)
