WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. CAL: 38 WCF (38-40). Standard grade rifle with 24” round barrel, full magazine, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate with sliding trap. The barrel is fitted with half-nickel front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. SN 388108. Prov. Ex – Dr. Robert L. Moore. CONDITION: Near excellent, the barrel retains 97-98% strong orig. blue, the magazine tube retains 95-96% strong orig. blue with fine scratches from disassembly. The foreend cap retains about 95% thinning blue, the receiver and sideplates retain 95-97% strong bright orig. blue with some minor cleaning scratches on the left side. The lever and hammer retain generous amounts of case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas, the buttplate is mostly silvered case colors with traces of color. The wood is sound and retains most of its orig. varnish with some minor surface dings and bruises with a light long bruise on the wrist. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-45303 JL110 (4,500-6,500)
