WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. CAL: 32 WCF (32-20). Standard grade rifle with 24” oct. barrel, full magazine, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent buttplate without trap. The barrel is fitted with half-nickel front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. SN 208254. Prov. Ex – Dr. Robert L. Moore. CONDITION: Early rifle in this caliber, in excellent plus condition, near mint, retaining virtually all its orig. finish to both metal and wood with only minor sharp edge wear on the metal with a couple of small scratches on the left side of the receiver and eight pinpoint dots on the left sideplate. The wood is sound and retains virtually all its orig. bright varnish. The lever and hammer retain most of their orig. case colors, dulled on the lever. The buttplate retains about 75-80% faded case colors turning to silver with minor surface discoloration on the toe and heel, otherwise nearly a 100 % gun.
