WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 SADDLE RING CARBINE. CAL. 44RF. Standard carbine with 20″ bbl, full magazine, square base front sight with 2-position flip rear sight. There is a staple and ring on the left side of the receiver. The wood is uncheckered with straight stock, carbine brass buttplate with trap containing an orig. 3-pc brass and iron wiping rod. SN 149838 CONDITION: Good to very good. The bbl retains traces of blue in the sheltered areas with the balance a light gray-brown color. The receiver was polished a long time ago and now is a light mustard patina with light scratches and dings. The wood is sound showing moderate to heavy wear and a fine old hand-rubbed patina, possibly an old refinish. Strong bore with light pitting. 4-45294 JL218 (3,000-4,000)
