RARE U.S. INSPECTED HENRY RIFLE. CAL. .44. 24-1/4” oct. bbl, follower, spring and rear sights are replacements. The upper tang is cracked and the tang screws are replacements, top rear is stripped. The buttplate screws have matching numbers. “C.G.C” inspector mark on bbl is faint. “H” marks on frame and bbl are sharp. SN 3537 CONDITION: Metal surfaces were cleaned and polished long ago and have now turned to a mellow patina on the brass and gray patina with scattered pitting on the iron parts. The stock has been sanded and refinished. The bore is poor, action is good. 4-44781 FS6 (15,000-25,000)
