VERY EARLY POSSIBLE CUSTER RANGE COLT CAVALRY SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. CAL. 45 Colt. Standard Cavalry configuration with 7-1/2″ bbl, 1st type bbl address, 2-line patent markings on frame, small US below cylinder with 1-pc walnut grips. There are tiny “A” inspector marks on all of the exposed pieces and parts. There is a tiny “C” in the hammer slot above the firing pin hole and another on the bbl under ejector rod housing. 1st type ejector rod housing with bullseye ejector rod head. Accompanied by a reproduction black leather holster, belt, cartridge holder and US marked percussion cap box. SN 233 CONDITION: Good. Retains 75-80% of an old reblue with some fine pitting on the trigger guard, frame and cylinder. Several replacement screws, replacement cylinder pin and sleeve. Grips are sound but worn and slightly shrunken with chipped toes. There appears to be an old brazed repair below the screw hole on the right side of the back strap. Bore is excellent, bright and shiny. Mechanics need attention, will not hold on safety or half-cock. Leather is as new. 4-45267 JL137 (3,000-5,000)
