CASED COLT MODEL 1862 POLICE PERCUSSION REVOLVER. CAL. 36. Blue and cased colored with 5-1/2″ round bbl, 5-shot fluted cylinder, iron trigger guard and back strap with British proofs and tiny L’s by the serial numbers. Accompanied by an oak English casing with brass medallion in the lid with the London Colt label inside the lid. Also accompanies is a Colt mold, a tiny Dixon nickeled oiler, tin of Eley’s caps and a very rare “COLT’S POCKET FLASK” marked Dixon Bag Flask and a wood handled wiping rod. SN 34369 CONDITION: Excellent plus, the bbl retains 97-99% bright glossy blue with minor muzzle wear, a couple of small scratches and some light dings around the wedge slot. The rammer retains most of its orig. bright case colors. The cylinder retains about 90% bright glossy blue with a small ding on the front edge. All five pins are nearly intact. The frame retains generous amounts its bright case colors, primarily blues and reds with the lesser colors fading to gray. The grip frame retains 96-98% bright glossy blue and the grips are excellent with about 98% bright orig. varnish. The bore is brilliant and shiny. The mold is used and dull with some light pitting and several small dings. The flask is brilliant, retaining virtually all of its orig. factory finish. The case is excellent, retaining about 95% orig. varnish with strong bright green baize lining. The inside label is slightly yellowed, but excellent. 4-45499 Z295 (8,000-12,000)
