FOREHAND AND WADSWORTH SINGLE BARREL SHOTGUN WITH RAILROAD MARKINGS. CAL. 10ga. Early top lever, side hammer shotgun with 26″ bbl, nickel receiver, splinter forearm and checkered semi-pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. The bottom of bbl is marked “TEX-MEX R.R.” and right side of buttstock has an inlaid brass badge that has a spreadwinged eagle at top and marked “POLICE/TEX-MEX/PATROLMAN” with a train in the center. NSN. CONDITION: Fair to good. The bbl has a dark brown patina, the receiver retains 40-50% orig. nickel plating. The forearm is badly battered with chips and pieces missing from the bbl channel edges. The stock has a repaired crack through the wrist and the wood retains most of an old refinish. Poor bore. A scarce piece of memorabilia from a little known railroad. 4-45694 JL180 (500-1,000)
