FRENCH MIQUELET FLINT FOWLER. CAL. about 12 bore. Medium fowler with 43-1/4″ oct. to round bbl with numerous touch marks and symbols on the top flat about the chamber area. Brass furniture with gold-wash, mounted in a raised carved club butt dark wood stock. The barrel band is filigreed in three slots. The trigger guard is long and ornate with finger rests and pineapple finials at each end as is the rear sling swivel base. The stock has raised side panels with stylized fleur di lis raised carvings at the back edges with raised floral carving around the top tang and beginning of the comb. The comb and belly of the stock are fluted with raised carving and the butt has a fleur di lis heel plate with filigree top tang. The lock plate is hourglass shaped with a pointed back end and has a deep touch mark in the center. The flash hole is platinum lined. The sideplate is filigree with two lock screws. It has its orig. iron button head ramrod. CONDITION: All the iron retains a dark brown patina. The brass fittings retain 50-75% orig. gold wash. The stock is missing part of the foreend tip, has a small crack in front and back of the lock plate and is missing small chips around the front. The toe has a large chip missing.
