KETLAND FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS.

KETLAND FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS. CAL. about 75. Bellmouth Blunderbuss with 17-1/4″ bbl which flares to 2-1/8″. The bbl tube appears to have been made from a Brown Bess musket bbl and is reconverted. The lock is by T. Ketland Co. with a replaced frizzen and hammer. The stock is spliced around the bbl channel and at the end and has brass ovals on either side. The trigger guard is brass and the sideplate is India pattern as is the brass buttplate. Matter of fact, the stock appears to be from a cut down India pattern Brown Bess. CONDITION: Appears to be pieced together from various parts with the aforementioned spliced wood and wood fill around the lock plate. Refinished wood. 4-44765 JL257 (400-700)
