SCOTTISH BASKET HILT SWORD. Typical Claymore style, 19th Century with 29″ dbl. edge blade, 1-3/8″ at the ricasso. The basket is pierced iron and bars with punched dot and triangle decoration and heart finials with a rolled quillion and a ball pommel. The handle is fish skin wrapped with flat, brass wire. CONDITION: The blade has a rounded tip with scattered pitting. The basket is a silver-brown patina and the fish skin wrap has lost 30-40%. 4-45451 JL366 (500-800)
