EUROPEAN CAVALRY SABER. 19th Century sword with 35″ slightly curved blade, wide unstopped fuller with 12″ back grind at the tip. Flat iron, 3-branch hand guard with ball quillion and tear drop pommel cap. The handle is two piece checkered hard rubber secured with 5 iron rivets. The right ricasso is marked with a crown over “L” over “8”. Accompanied by its orig. steel scabbard with two iron rings and drag. It is marked with unit markings near the throat. CONDITION: Good to very good. The blade has been cleaned with light surface pitting and several nicks to the cutting edge. The hand guard is a dark brown patina with the handle material worn and nicked. The scabbard retains an overall dark patina with several large dents about 1/3 of the way from the tip and some corrosion. 4-45093 JL369 (300-500)
