19TH CENTURY J. RODGERS SHEFFIELD CLIP-POINT BOWIE. This interesting clip-point bowie could have possibly been used by a sea faring individual or someone who at one time served on the sea. The reason I say this is because of the outstanding macramé-type braid work on the handle. The blade is marked J Rodgers & Sons 6 Norfolk Street Sheffield. The reverse is stamped with the star and cross trademark. The rawhide macramé work on the handle is outstanding. It is complete with leather nickel-mounted scabbard. SIZE: Blade is 7″. Overall length 12″. CONDITION: Knife and scabbard appear to be nearly excellent. 8-86972 (750-1,000)
