CONFEDERATE STYLE BOWIE TYPE SIDE-KNIFE BY MURRAY & GRAY. Heavy clip point Bowie blade, 10-1/8″ long, 1-5/16″ at hand guard that tapers out to 2″ at the widest point. It is mounted with a flat brass hand guard with a bend at the top and has mounted pine slab handles secured with two iron rivets. The left ricasso is marked in a rectangle with the makers’ name and another stamping below that is indecipherable. The right ricasso is stamped “R.MOLE”. CONDITION: The blade appears to be mostly intact with heavy crusted rust and pitting. Hand guard is fine as are the handles. 4-45081 JL183 (700-1,000)
