BALLARD DUAL IGNITION RIFLE. CAL. 44RF/PERC. Manufactured by Merwin & Bray, standard rifle with 28″ oct. bbl sling swivels, replaced front sight blade, broken rear sight with a dovetail added on the tang and the sight missing. Built with manual extractor. The wood is uncheckered with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. SN 17768 CONDITION; About good. The bbl retains a medium brown patina with scattered heavy rust pitting. The receiver is a dark gray brown patina with light rust pitting. The left side of receiver has an unexplained 1/4″ hole. Forearm has two repaired cracks and all the wood retains a dark amateur finish. The stock has a grain check at the buttplate. Strong dark bore with a slight ring, may clean. 4-45360 JL250 (400-700)
