SHARPS BORCHARDT MILITARY MUSKET. CAL. 45-70. Standard Musket with 32″ round bbl, full-length forearm with two bbl bands and metal nose cap and a round head wiping rod under the bbl. The wood is uncheckered with straight stock and checkered steel buttplate. Usual markings on the receiver and bbl. with the inscription behind the rear sight “OLD RELIABLE”. SN 16274 CONDITION: Good to very good. The bbl retains about 75% blue-brown with scattered light surface rust and some small nicks behind the rear band. The receiver is mostly a blue-brown, thin on the right side. The forearm is sound with usual nicks and handling marks. The stock has three or four small cracks on the wrist at the receiver, otherwise retains a dark oil finish with mildew on the right side.
