INSCRIBED SMITH & WESSON NO. 2 ARMY SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVER. CAL. 32 RF. Blued finish, 6″ oct. bbl, German silver front sight and 2-pc rosewood grips. Back strap is engraved “PIONEER BRIGADE”. No indication of what this inscription refers to, but undoubtedly a Civil War Unit. SN 6397 CONDITION: Very good, plus. Bbl retains 50-60% thin orig. blue, strong in the rib gullets. Cylinder retains 70-75% thin orig. blue and frame about 60% strong orig. blue with grip frame being mostly a silver-gray. Grips are sound and retain about 90% of the orig. varnish. Excellent mechanics and strong bore with scattered pitting and dark spots. 4-45069 JL154 (1,500-3,000)
