RARE SMALL FRAME MARSTON SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. CAL. .31. 26” oct. bbl, checkered buttstock with cheekpiece. The frame is marked “W.W. MARSTON PATENTED 1850 NEW-YORK” and is lightly engraved. The very unusual rear sight is inletted into the top of the bbl. The ramrod is replaced. There is an empty threaded hole in the top tang. SN 50 CONDITION: Gray-brown patina overall with scattered light surface rust and pitting heavier around the nipple. The bore is pitted, action is fine. 4-45328 FS14 (1,250-1,750)
