SOUTHERN STYLE FULL-STOCK PERCUSSION KENTUCKY RIFLE. CAL. about 41. Unmarked simple Kentucky with 45-1/4″ oct. bbl, dovetail front sight with iron base and brass blade with thick fixed rear sight. All together unmarked. The bbl and simple flat lock plate are all together unmarked. The bolster has a large pan around the nipple. The stock is of straight grain walnut with raised, pointed end, side panels. The bbl is secured with four pins. It has iron nose cap, brass guides and a German silver nose pipe. Simple trigger guard with finger rest and brass buttplate made without a patch box. CONDITION: About excellent. The bbl and lock retain a dark, fine brown patina. The brass has a very dark brown patina. The wood is sound and retains most of its orig. finish under a coating of old crud. Will clean nicely. The dbl. set triggers work but the hammer will not stay cocked. Examination showed a simple problem that any competent gunsmith can fix in a few moments. 4-45708 JL352 (1,000-2,000)
