COMPOSITE WATERS FLAT LOCK PISTOL. CAL: 54. 8-1/2” round bbl. The lock plate is dated 1849. The trigger guard and sideplate are brass. The bbl band and grip strap have been browned. The 3-line Waters & Co. marking on the lock plate has been partially ground and the beginning letters are unreadable. There is a “JH” proof mark on the bbl but no US acceptance stamp and no inspector marks on the left side of the stock. The letter “V” has been stamped on the drum and in front of the trigger guard. NSN CONDITION: Retains most of the current brown finish with some light pitting, heavier on the lock plate. The stock has cracks at the front end and at both lock plate screws. The bore is heavily pitted, lock is good. 4-45032 X30 (800-1,200)
