SMALL FRENCH DOUBLE BARREL FLINTLOCK PISTOL. CAL. about 52. Small deluxe little pistol with 4-9/16″ damascus bbls with damascened engraving over chamber areas and down rib. Front action locks are plain. 1-pc wood stock has nicely engraved brass furniture with fine skip line checkering and a swelled oval butt with brass butt cap. Accompanied by a 3×5 card stating that this pistol was bought in about 1972 from “Dr. Swansey’s Collection” and alleges that it was brought home from W.W.II by a GI and further, that it orig.ly had paperwork indicating that it was captured at Waterloo. CONDITION: Bbls retain 50-60% orig. pattern with traces of orig. blue in rib. Stock has a small crack at the tip and is missing a chip back of the right lock, otherwise is sound and retains most of its orig. varnish. Excellent mechanics. 4-45390 JL159 (750-1,250)
