CARVED WOOD FIGURE OF HOI TEI AND FIVE OTHER FIGURES. 19th/early 20th century, Japan. The first depicted with satchel of wealth; the second a wood carving of a musician with ivory face and hands, polychrome decorated, signed; the third a pottery glazed figure of a seated Hoi Tei; the fourth a carved figure of a seated, bearded man; the fifth a figure of a demon seated with sack over his shoulder, polychrome paint decorated; and the last a ceramic polychrome figure of Hoi Tei with satchel of wealth.
