FINE PAIR OF ANTIQUE CHINESE HUANGHUALI HORSESHOE BACK ARMCHAIRS. Each curved back with dowswept arms and outswept hand grips centering a shaped splat flanked by cylindrical stiles continuing to undulating arm supports. Rectangular seat with inset panel, raised on cylindrical legs joined by a flattened box stretcher. The legs with undulating picture frame moldings. SIZE: 41-1/4″ h and 39-3/4″ h. Seat: 20″ h. PROVENANCE: From a private collection, Great Britain. CONDITION: The well figured chairs professionally restored and repolished, the rectangular seat panels possibly later additions. Good professional restoration to old split at center of crestrail on one chair (see photo), otherwise very good. 9-29589 (2,000-3,000)
