LOOSE PAINTING ATTRIBUTED TO ZHANG DAQIAN (1899–1983).

China. Ink and colors on paper, finely depicting still life with Chinese cabbages, radishes, and mushrooms, inscribed, dated spring of gengshen year, signed “Old man Yuan,” with four seals. NOTE: Similar work mounted in hanging scroll format can be found in the exhibition “Straddling East and West: Lin Yutang, A Modern Literatus” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A similar painting of slightly larger size sold at Bonhoms Hong Kong Lot 1286 May 25th 2014 Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction. SIZE: 13″ x 25″.
