FINE IVORY CARVING. 19th century, China. Standing figure of the Goddess of Longevity, Guanyin, a child with lantern cradled in left arm, a laughing child at her feet. With traces of polychrome decoration. Robe decorated with bamboo sprouts. Signed on reverse at base. SIZE: 24-3/4″ h. PROVENANCE: Ex-Eu Tong Sen/Jenny Eu Collection. CONDITION: With mellow patina. Minor vertical age cracks. Small area of roughness at edge of robe. Small repair to robe at front proper right side. Additional small chip to edge of robe above head of lower child.
