CHINESE EXPORT MASONIC PORCELAIN CIDER JUG.

Late 18th century. Of barrel form with entwined reeded strap-handle and crouching lion finial, the cover and sides painted with Masonic emblems, the rims with a gilt grapevine design cobalt blue band. SIZE: 11″ h x approx 6″ dia. PROVENANCE: Massachusetts collection of Sherwood Smith. Northeast Auctions, March 2, 2002, Lot 5. From a fine private Long Island, NY collection.
