SN 302136. Cal. 35 Rem. Third type rifle 24″ bbl. Bottom of bbl is marked “35 REM” with date marking “47”. Stippled ramp 103C front sight with hood along with 16B folding leaf rear sight. Bolt has deep SN marking matching rifle. Mag box is 2 partition style with 2-9/16″ opening stamped “7”. Short mag follow and spring, extractor is stamped “R” and is the proper 250-3000 style extractor ring and ejector. Monte Carlo standard grade checkered walnut stock with sling swivels and checkered buttplate. There were only 253 Model 70’s made between 1946-1948 in this caliber, and finding an all correct original example is a real find. Excerpt from Roger Rule’s book substantiates production totals. CONDITION: Very good blue showing light wear on the bolt handle. Stock finish is very good showing only very few marks. Very good bore. 50967-2 DS (5,000-8,000) – Lot 3237
