OAK WINE BARREL. Late 19th/early 20th century, France. The paint decorated oak wine barrel of swelled cylindrical form with iron banding, decorated with the following within oval cartouches: 1) “Grand Cru” on a burgundy ground, 2) “CHATEAU LANGOA BARTON” on an ivory ground above a central grape cluster flanked by flags above 3) “Saint-Julien” on an ivory ground. SIZE: 40-1/2″ h x 17-1/2″ dia. CONDITION: Generally good with weathered surfaces scuffed and abraded from normal use. 9-92356 (500-700)
