CLASSICAL BURL, ELM & MAHOGANY THREE-PEDESTAL DINING TABLE.

First half 20th century. The three-part table with two additional leaves. The top with rayed burl elm veneers within a wide crossbanded mahogany border, and with demilune ends. The center section raised on a ring turned standard joined to four reeded downswept legs terminating in cast-foliate brass-capped casters. The outside pedestals of similar design but of tripod form. NOTE: The center section originally with tilting top, now comprised of two 22″ x 46″ sections, joined together. Additionally, the table is accompanied by two leaves, the first 22-3/4″ x 46 and the second 23-1/2″ x 46″. The original locking mechanism is still present for attachment to pedestal. SIZE: 2-pedestal example: 29″ h x 55″ l x 46″ w. 3-pedestal: 29″ h x 99-1/2″ l x 46″ w. 3-pedestal with leaves: 29″ h x 12′ 1-1/2″ l x 46″ w. PROVENANCE: Jeffrey Tillou Antiques, Litchfield, CT. From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: The table retains original polished surfaces and exhibits normal and expected minor blemishes around edges from use.
