THREE MAHOGANY CANTERBURYS.1) The first, English, with X-form bobbin-turned magazine holders in three sections with circular molded decoration above the stand fitted with single drawer, turret finials at the corners raised on baluster-turned legs terminating in casters. 2) The second a Regency example with block- and ring-turned supports and mushroom capped finials joined by slats forming two magazine sections. The base fitted with a single drawer with cockbeaded edges on swelled cylinder legs raised on brass capped casters. 3) The third an American Canterbury with acorn finials on turned spindles divided in four magazine sections, the centermost with hand grip above the rectangular brass fitted with a short drawer with ring handle raised on swelled cylindrical legs terminating in brass capped casters. SIZE: 1) 23-1/2″ h x 19″ l x 13-1/4″ d. 2) 20″ h x 20″ l x 14″ w. 3) 19″ h x 19″ l x 13″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine private Long Island, NY collection.
