FINELY CRAFTED CASED MODEL WITH STAND OF THE AMERICAN STEAM YACHT “CORSAIR”. Late 20th century. Finely detailed cased model of the two-masted steam yacht “Corsair” (4th). SIZE: Boat: 44″ l. Case: 51″ l x 27″ h x 14″ w. Base: 31″ h. PROVENANCE: This is a model of the 4th of the family of the great Corsairs designed by H.J. Gielow and built in 1830 by Bath Iron Works. constructed with a steel hull and powered by a twin screw engine. The original owner was J.P. Morgan, it used by the British Navy in WWII and used for commercial purposed between 1946-1949. CONDITION: Mint condition. 9-91663 (3,000-4,000)
